This is a story from our past. St. Patrick’s Day (Paddy’s Day to us Irish). Wearing some shade of green a family of seven piles into our car. Parade-time again! Arrive, get a spot, ten people deep, peep our heads through the crowds. Cold, raining, windy, typically Irish, great day had by all.
We head home and notice a big queue outside the Mansion House, Dad: “wow, big queue this year”. Puzzled, we ask, What for? He continues, “Every year tourists come from all over the world to get their bum’s painted green, they queue up inside, stand against a wall and the painters come in and paint their bums, it’s an age old tradition.” And yes, we believed him!
